Losergeek.org, Jakarta – The Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono will implement the hybrid system for civil servants in the Jakarta Provincial Government area. The civil servants will both work from the office and from home. The hybrid system is planned to be implemented starting in September.
Heru Budi said that the system will be implemented based on President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s instruction during the limited meeting on the deteriorating air quality in Jakarta today, August 14, 2023.
“We will soon calculate the percentage for each regional working unit (OPD). Hopefully, it could be implemented in September,” said Heru after the meeting as quoted by Antara.
Heru explained that the public service OPD has to work from the office. Meanwhile, OPD who works in planning and other non-public service sectors will work from home.
Heru stressed that the system is mandatory for Jakarta’s civil servants in the Provincial Government. However, Heru also hoped that the ministries and other government agencies in Jakarta could implement this system, as well as the private companies.
Previously, Heru allowed private companies to implement the hybrid system. “Some of the companies have implemented the system, while the rest could not implement it considering the type of business they run, that’s their policy,” he said.
During the limited meeting, Jokowi said the hybrid system needs to be implemented considering the worsening air quality in Jakarta for the past week.
