Street Fighter EX plus α
Street Fighter EX plus Alpha is the 1997 PlayStation port of Capcom and Arika's polygonal arcade spinoff, and it lands as the home version of the already-updated Street Fighter EX Plus. The core appeal stays simple: classic Street Fighter inputs and timing, rebuilt with 3D character models on 2D planes, plus an original cast of Arika fighters fighting alongside Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and the rest. Quarter-circles still produce hadokens, and combos still cancel the way muscle memory expects.
This version brings Dhalsim and Sakura into the mix on top of the arcade roster, then layers in extra modes, an arranged soundtrack, and CG endings for every character. Single-player only, but the new fighters like Skullomania, Doctrine Dark, and Pullum Purna give the lineup a flavor you cannot find anywhere else. For collectors of late-90s Capcom fighting games, this one still holds up as a curio that played seriously.
