Street Fighter EX2 Plus
Street Fighter EX2 Plus is the 1999 Arika-developed sequel that pushes the EX line deeper into 3D fighting on arcade and PlayStation. The 2D-plane combat stays familiar, but new systems pile on top: Excel Move chains let you string together free-form combos, Meteor Combos cash out as cinematic supers, Guard Break opens defenders up, and Super Cancels turn one super into another mid-animation. Capcom signature feel, Arika engine.
Twenty-three fighters from across the Street Fighter universe show up, mixing series mainstays with EX originals like Skullomania, Hokuto, and Area. Seven modes cover Arcade, Versus, Practice, Training, Trial, Director, and Bonus, with Director mode letting you edit replay data and stage your own match footage. It is the EX series at its most feature-loaded, a sequel that swung hard at expanding what a Street Fighter game could include.
