The King of Fighters 2000

The King of Fighters 2000 is the last entry SNK shipped before the Playmore reshuffle, and it shows the studio swinging for the fences. The 2000 tournament is run by the Ikari Warriors as a sting operation against NESTS, with K' and Maxima caught in the middle and betrayal cooking inside the host team. The art is sharper, the backgrounds are denser, and the fighting game pacing leans heavier on team coordination than any KOF before it.

The Active Striker System is the big addition, letting you call your striker mid-combo, mid-block, or mid-getup instead of waiting for a clean opening. Stack that on top of Another Strikers and Maniac Strikers pulled from across the SNK back catalog, and you get a roster that doubles as a love letter to the company's arcade history. Newcomers Vanessa, Ramon, Seth, Lin, Hinako Shijo, and Kula Diamond join the regulars and give the team-building real range.
