The King of Fighters 2002

The King of Fighters 2002 is Eolith and Playmore's 2002 dream-match entry, a Neo Geo arcade fighter that drops the storyline pretense and just stuffs the roster with every KOF favorite worth picking. Three-fighter teams return after the four-on-four detour of 2001, and the cast swells past forty veterans pulled from across the saga.

The Free Cancel System lets you burn meter to chain specials into other specials mid-combo, while MAX Mode powers up moves and unlocks new desperation routes. Quick Emergency Evasion and Quick MAX Activation tighten defense on a frame-by-frame level. KOF 2002 became a tournament pillar across Asia and Latin America, and the 2010 Unlimited Match remix only deepened its rep among combo heads.
